Silk can be used on a variety of properly prepared surfaces, including wood, laminate, vinyl, fabric, brick, plastic, glass, ceramic, stone, tile, and more.

How to Apply

Step 1: Prep
Lightly scuff sand the surface to remove gloss and provide proper adhesion.

Step 2: Clean
Thoroughly clean with Dixie Belle Pristine Clean or White Lightning, then rinse with clean water and allow the surface to dry completely.

Step 3: Mix
Shake and stir Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint thoroughly before painting. Give your paint another stir during longer projects as needed.

Step 4: Apply
Apply using a clean, dry Dixie Belle synthetic brush or smooth roller. Work in thin, even coats for a smooth finish.

Step 5: Recoat
Allow the first coat to dry for 4 hours before applying the second coat. Allow approximately 24 hours after the second coat before normal handling.

For particularly slick or difficult-to-paint surfaces, apply two coats of Dixie Belle Bonding Boss before painting.

Using a Paint Sprayer

For spray application, mix approximately 1 oz. of Floetrol per 16 oz. of Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint. Always follow the instructions for your specific paint sprayer and test your mixture and spray pattern before beginning your project.

Built-In Primer & Top Coat

Silk All-In-One Mineral Paint combines a water-based primer and top coat within its formula, reducing the number of separate products and steps needed to complete your project.

For most properly prepared projects, an additional top coat is not required. However, Gator Hide or Clear Coat may be added when additional protection is desired, particularly on high-use surfaces.
